Unknown Militants have blown up a gas pipeline in Al-Resan areas, south of Northern Sinai City of Arish, the state news agency (MENA) reported. MENA added that thick flames rose into the sky from the spot where the pipeline was struck, but there were no reports of human casualties so far. The pipeline explosion disrupted gas supplies to homes and heavy industries factories in central Sinai. Militants had blown up the gas pipelines in the lawless Sinai Peninsula for over 19 times since the popular uprising that toppled former president Hosni Mubarak in January 2011. The explosions stopped temporarily during the reign for ousted president Mohammad Morsi and were resumed after his ouster in July 2013. Source: KUNA
