Morsi espionage trial postponed to February 23

The Cairo Criminal Court decided Sunday to postpone until February 23 the trial of ousted president Mohamed Morsi and 35 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) members over espionage charges. The court said it will proceed with the hearing despite the defense's withdrawal and appointed ten attorneys to represent the suspects. Morsi and 35 MB members stand accused of collaborating with foreign organizations to commit acts of terrorism in Egypt, revealing defense secrets to a foreign country, funding terrorists and organizing military training "to achieve the purposes of the international organization of the Brotherhood," according to a prosecution statement.
