Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri discussed with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nuhayyan Saturday political, economic, trade and investment cooperation, foreign ministry spokesman said.
Bader Abdulaati said in a statement the two top diplomats discussed, in a phone call, the recent regional developments.
They agreed to build upon the outcome of a meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, few days back, particularly over Iraq and Syria, said Abdulaati.
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the United Arab Emirates' full support for the Egyptian government and people during this important period of the country's history, he added.
Shukri thanked the UAE for its relentless support.
