Wei-Yin Chen allowed only one earned run over 6 1/3 innings Monday and Baltimore evened its playoff series with a 3-2 decision over the New York Yankees. Chen (1-0) worked around eight hits and a walk to hold the Yankees to two runs (one earned) while striking out three as the Orioles knotted their best-of-five American League Division Series at one victory apiece. Darren O'Day and Brian Matusz combined for 1 2/3 scoreless relief frames and Jim Johnson -- who allowed the go-ahead run in the eighth inning of Sunday's Game 1 loss -- tossed a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save. Chris Davis delivered a go-ahead, two-run single in the third inning and Mark Reynolds added a run-scoring hit in the sixth for the O's. New York's Andy Pettitte (0-1) absorbed the loss, allowing three runs on seven hits over seven innings. Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano drove in runs for the Yankees, who now return home to host the remainder of the series.
