A 30-year-old man died Wednesday during a protest held in Venezuela as part of a nationwide strike called by the opposition to pressure President Nicolas Maduro, according to prosecutors.

The cause of the death, which occurred in Ejida, in the western state of Merida, was not given. It added to a death toll that exceeded 100 in four months of violent street demonstrations in the country.
