Waw Dam

Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said on Thursday that Cairo and Juba will launch an international campaign to lure investors to invest in the multi-purpose Waw Dam, which will be built in South Sudan, after preparing the feasibility studies of the project and delivering it to the South Sudanese government.
The minister made the statements after signing a deal with South Sudan's National Minister of Electricity, Dams, Irrigation and Water Resources Jemma Nunu Kumba upon recommendations of the Juba-hosted conference on the project evaluation.
The two-day event was attended by about 100 experts and specialists from Egypt, South Sudan and international organizations.
Moghazi revealed that an international conference will be held in Juba soon to promote for the dam, stressing that Egypt is ready to provide training courses for South Sudanese cadres.
He underlined that the establishment of the dam will cost 1.2 billion dollars and provide 110,000 job opportunities for South Sudan's people.
