The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdualziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, today issued a number of royal orders.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a royal order amending the name of the "Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution" to be the "Public Prosecution" and its chairman should be called the "Public Prosecutor", and is directly linked to the King, enjoys full independence, and no one shall interfere in its work.
The Bureau of Experts of the Cabinet in conjunction with relevant authorities should review the regulations of the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, the code of criminal procedures, other regulations and relevant royal orders, propose amendments in accordance with this order and submit the outcomes within a period not exceeding 90 days from its date, in order to complete the necessary legal procedures, SPA added.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz also relieved Sheikh Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Areeni, President of the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution, of his post, and appointed Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah bin Mubarak Al-Mu'jeb as Public Prosecutor with a ministerial rank.
He also ordered the termination of service of Lt. Gen. Othman bin Nasser Al-Mahraj, Director of Public Security, and referring him to retirement, and promoting Major General Saud bin Abdulaziz Hilal to the rank of Lieutenant General and appointing him as Director of Public Security King Salman bin Abdulaziz appointed Abdulhakim bin Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al-Tamimi as President of General Authority of Civil Aviation, and Suhail bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Abanmi as the Governor of General Authority of Zakat and Tax.
