The Specialized Criminal Division in the capital Sana\'a on Tuesday sentenced ten of al-Qaeda elements between 3-4 years in prison. The verdict in the hearing, which was held under the chairmanship of Judge Ahmed al-Mouallimi , stipulated the amendment of the first, second, third, seventh, eighth and eleventh paragraphs of the appealed elementary sentence to become as the following: Imprisoning both of the first convict Hisham Musa’ad Ahmed Naji al-Mohya and the second convict Badr Ahmed Mohamed Ali al-Sudani for four years commencing from the date of arrest. The verdict decided the sustainment of the imprisonment duration of the seventh convicted Mashhour Ibrahim Mashhour al-Ahdal and the eighth Hussein Saleh Abdullah Mahdi al-Tais, and to release them unless they are cooped up pending another case, as well as the confiscation of seizures related to the case from weapons, and upholding the rest of the paragraphs of the elementary sentence. The specialized lower court in the capital Sana’a began in February 06, 2011, the trial of ten of the al-Qaeda elements, including a Syrian national, accused of participating, during the period from 2005 until July 2010 ,in an armed gang to carry out criminal acts aimed at attacking the military , security and government leaders and foreign diplomats residing in Yemen and the government and foreign companies, and the abduction of military and security vehicles, and looting of funds with a view to damage the country\'s security and stability and undermine public tranquility.
