The number of illegal migrants who crossed the Mediterranean to southern Europe exceeded 100,000 migrants since the start of the year until May.

As many as, 103,000 people of Arab, African and Asian countries transited the Mediterranean including 54,000 who arrived to Italy and 48,000 headed for Greece, the UNHCR announced on Tuesday.
