As many as 160 Turkish soldiers have withdrawn from Bashiqa camp in northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

They have crossed into Turkey through Khabur border crossing amid tight security measures.

The withdrawal of Turkish forces will be done in small groups till the end of December with the aim of easing tension with Iraq that voiced its objection to the entry of Turkish forces into Mosul city without coordinating with the Iraqi government.
