Palestinian gunners unleashed missile salvos in the direction of several regions in southern Israel, a spokesman of the Israeli Army said on Monday. The spokesman said at least 18 missiles, fired from the Gaza Strip over the night, targeted southern areas. All the missiles hit uninhabited regions around Israeli towns and settlements dotting the south, causing no losses. The Israeli Government has spoken of plans to \"fortify\" houses in southern Israel against such attacks. In the skies, Israeli warplanes roared over Palestinian regions on reconnaissance flight, following raids that targeted locations where the gunners fired the missiles.
