As many as 251 persons were arrested in a wave of anti-terror operations being carried out by Turkish police across the country, Anadolu news agency reported.

Arrests have been made in Izmir, Sanliurfa and the capital, Ankara.

Operations have taken place in 13 cities, with 251 suspects currently in detention.

Many suspects – thought to be linked to groups like Daesh, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and its youth wing, plus the outlawed far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front were detained.
