Three people were arrested in connection with Thursday's deadly terror attacks in Jakarta, a police detective told The Wall Street Journal.

The arrests occurred during a dawn raid Friday on a house in a Jakarta suburb, the detective said.

No other details of the raid were immediately available.

Multiple bomb and gun attacks Thursday in Indonesia's capital left a Canadian and an Indonesian dead. Five assailants also died in the attacks, for which Daesh terrorist group has claimed responsibility.

Daesh flag was found at the home of one of the attackers, national police spokesman Anton Charliyan told reporters Friday.

The national police are strengthening security around embassies, offices with foreign workers and investments with links overseas, Charliyan said.

Security is also being stepped up at airports, seaports and police stations, he said.

Police are running sweeps in areas of the island of Java, where Jakarta is located, as well as in Kalimantan on Borneo and the island of Sulawesi, Charliyan said.
