Turkey has received recently 6,837 refugees from Syria and Iraq, including 837 Iraqi Turkmen, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said.

“We face an unprecedented situation,” Kurtulmuş said while visiting a refugee camp in the border town of Harran.

According to Haber Turk newspaper, Kurtulmuş accused the international anti-Daesh coalition of “placing a multidimensional scenario” in Syria.

“This scenario, which is put into effect step by step, unfortunately leads to the influx [into Turkey] of [Syrian] guests. We host 2 million Syrian brothers and sisters, regardless of their ethnic roots or sect,” he said
