Turkey on Friday said that 75 militants associated with the Kurdistan Workers\' Party (PKK) were killed in the military operation that started on September 8, a statement from the southern east Turkish Province of Hakkari said. The operation, in which the military and police took part, resulted also in the killing of four Turkish security personnel, the statement said, adding that the concerned entities continue to take strict measures to face militants in the region. PKK, considered a terrorist organization in Turkey and the European Union, stepped up its operations recently, which led to the killing of a number of military and civilian personnel.
