9 miners have been trapped underground after a coal mine in southwest China’s Guizhou Province was flooded.32 miners have been lifted out of the shaft to safety. Contact has been established with 3 of the trapped miners. Six rescue crews are working at the scene and procedures to drain the mine have begun. It’s reported that the mine is properly licensed and produces 90 thousand tons of coal annually. An investigation into the cause of the flooding is underway.
