Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi received Friday an invitation from German Chancellor Angela Merkel to attend a meeting of the G7 to be hosted by Germany.

In a telephone call, both leaders discussed the political and security situation in Iraq and the region, along with the war on terrorism.

Abadi thanked Germany for the invitation.

Abadi asserted that his government will continue to act to liberate Iraqi lands from Daesh.
