The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Bern on Wednesday for a two-day visit and talks with Swiss officials on developments in the Middle East and Palestine’s bid at the UN general assembly to gain an observer status. Abbas’s visit is part of a tour that also included Saudi Arabia and Egypt to upgrade Palestine’s status at the assembly.
