President Mahmoud Abbas starts Wednesday an official four-day visit to Russia where he is scheduled to meet Russian political and religious leaders, Palestine’s ambassador to Russia, Faed Mustafa, said Monday.He said Abbas is slated to visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the political situation in the region as well as issues of mutual interest.He said Abbas will also meet Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in addition to local religious leaders.Mustafa said a number of agreements will be signed between Russia and Palestine during the visit.
