Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Sunday here with a delegation representing the US Congress led by Senator Mitch McConnell.

The meeting was attended by the US Consul General to Jerusalem Donald Blome.

The two sides discussed the conditions in the Palestinian territories, the suspended peace process, provocations practised by the Israeli settlers in Al Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian villages as well as cities.

Abbas posted them on the efforts exerted by the Palestinian leadership to revive the peace process based on setting up two states, ending occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital on the 1967 borders.
