Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of India, will co-chair the 11th edition of the India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting on Technical and Economical Cooperation, scheduled to be held on 2nd and 3rd September in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the two sides will discuss bilateral relations and ways of developing them in the fields of trade and investment, defence, manufacturing, infrastructure and urban development. Other topics on the agenda will include security concerns, the fight against terrorism, energy security, small and medium enterprises, as well as scientific cooperation in the space field, renewable energy, sustainable development, healthcare, and the environment.

The UAE and India share a historical friendly relationship which has been constantly developing through mutual official visits and growing trade relations.

As impressive as our economic exchanges are, there is far more to the UAE-Indian relationship than trade figures. Today, there are more than 750 weekly flights between our countries and our airlines look forward to continuing to bring our people and nations closer together.

The level and frequency of UAE-India official engagement is high, with many business and government delegations visiting, and regular senior level dialogues on economic, defence, security, and consular matters. It has taken decades to lay this strong bilateral foundation between our countries. The UAE is keen to make the leap into a new phase of the UAE-India relationship and to work together in a number of areas in which we believe closer ties should be forged.
