Tehran - SANA
Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, said Iran and Algeria stand by the Syrian people and support the political program to solve the crisis in Syria. During his meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Murad Madlassi in Algiers on Thursday, Abdullahian stressed the need for regional and international cooperation to immediately halt the violence in Syria. He reiterated that Tehran and Algiers call for conducting a real national dialogue in Syria to reach a national charter and affirm that the political solution is the only way to get out of the crisis. Abdullahian pointed out that some parties of the conflict in Syria reject dialogue and promote violence on the ground, adding that those parties enjoy public support by some countries. The Iranian official stressed that "Syria has successfully passed through the security crisis and the remaining terrorists in the districts of some areas are breathing their last." Abdullahian described the positions of the Algerian President towards Syria and Palestine as "wise", referring to "the Algerian officials' correct understanding of the aim of the enemies of the resistance axis lying behind targeting Syria."
