Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh strongly criticized Thursday Israeli incitement against President Mahmoud Abbas describing it as dangerous and harmful to peace efforts. He demanded that the United States takes a very clear position regarding this incitement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet ministers.Abu Rudeineh asserted that “the positions of the president and the Palestinian leadership are aimed at protecting the rights of the Palestinian people and not to turn a blind eye to (Israeli) incitement to kill and sabotage the last of what remained of US efforts to keep the last chance for peace through building illegitimate settlements and announcing all the time that they will not withdraw from the Palestinian-Jordanian borders or recognize the rights of the refugees.”He said the Israeli government bears full responsibility for the outcome of “this destructive policy.”Abu Rudeineh condemned as well the Israeli army killing of a Palestinian worker near Ramallah on Wednesday and said that the non-stop Israeli army killing of Palestinian citizens “is the true translation for this policy of incitement by Israeli ministers.”An exports report financed by the US State Department concluded two years ago that contrary to Israeli allegations, Palestinian school textbooks do not incite against Israel. On the contrary, Israel is the party that refuses to revive the joint Palestinian-Israeli-American committee to monitor incitement from both sides.
