Afghanistan's parliament

Afghanistan's parliament on Saturday approved 16 ministers nominated by the government.

Nominees for the ministries of water and power, education, higher education, agriculture, commerce and industries, information and culture, urban development, and labor and social affairs were approved.

Lawmakers also voted for the heads of the ministries of transportation and civil aviation, women's affairs, public works, counternarcotics, justice, frontiers and tribal affairs, telecommunications and information technology as well as the economy, dpa reported.

The nominees for the ministry of defence, attorney general and the Supreme Court have yet to be introduced.
