Units of Afghan national police backed by the army have killed 17 Taliban fighters during series of operations across the country over the past 24 hours, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here Monday. The operations, according to the statement, have been conducted in Kandahar, Paktika, Paktiya, Farah and Nimroz provinces, during which, the troops besides killing 17 rebels have also captured eight more Taliban fighters. There were no causalities on the security personnel. Taliban militants haven't make comment.
