Afghan security bodies said they foiled a plot to launch terror attacks on the capital, Kabul, local Khaama news agency reported Saturday.
A statement by the country's National Directorate of Security (NDS) stated that Haqani militants were busted in Logar.
They planned to carry out terror attacks on the Kabul, the statement said.
Nine insurgents were scheduled to take part in these attacks, four of them were killed and five arrested in a clash erupted during the raid, the statement added.
Several heavy and light weapons were seized, the statement said.
The five detained terrorists have confessed that they had received a month long training for combat and suicide bombing in North Waziristan, before being sent to Logar province to enter Kabul and target busy parts of the city, the statement concluded.
