Afghan government is due to take control and responsibility of the Bagram prison which is under the control of the  United States army. According to reports at least 3000 detainees are kept in Bagram prison which also includes a number of Taliban prisoners. According to Afghan online newspaper (Khaama Press), Afghan presidential palace announced in a statement that the transfer of the Bagram prison to Afghan security forces is a major achievement. The statement added the transfer of the prison will be performed under a ceremony on 10th of September.
