The 13th Afro-Arab Parliamentary conference opened here on Wednesday with the participation of a delegation from the Kuwait National Assembly (i.e. parliament), in addition to similar delegations from a number of Arab and African parliaments. Over a period of two days, the conference will exchange views on the promotion of Afro-Arab cooperation to support the economies of African and Arab countries and, in particular, the joint economic projects. It will also discuss the role of African and Arab Parliaments in ensuring the respect of religions and holy places in both regions and protecting the national cultures of the African and Arab populations in the face of the impacts of globalization. The conference moreover will set up the new Follow-up Committee to deal with the results of this conference and will set also the date and venue of the 14th Conference. It will also draft the Final Communiqu{ of this event ahead of adopting it at the close of the conference tomorrow.
