HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah on Thursday visited Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Exhibition ” A Story of a Leader”, held at Qatar Museums Authority Hall in KATARA. HE Al-Attiyah toured the exhibition and examined the rare displayed antiques and historic photographs as well as documentaries highlighting the life and achievements of Late Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim.The exhibition presents the evolution of the State of Qatar through three stages, the first of which is the beginning of the reign of Sheikh Abdullah and the dawn of the modern State of Qatar. The second sheds light on the old palace, telling the history of the palace itself and the life of the ruling family in it, in addition to its geographical location and its importance as a centre of power in Qatar. The final phase focuses on the modern era, as it shows converting the palace into the first museum in Qatar in 1975, and displays the ambitious plans drawn up by the Qatar Museums Authority to develop the old palace into the new National Museum of Qatar.The exhibition is accompanied by an educational program meant to educate students about the history of the State of Qatar, including the profile of Sheikh Abdullah and his leadership and also allows awareness opportunities and tours for students, in addition to family entertainment.
