On the sidelines of the 139th session of the Council of the Arab League, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ghanem bin Fadhl Al-Buainain met here today with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament (AP) Ahmed Mohammed Al-Jarwan, in the presence of AP\'s Secretary-General Dr. Abdul Nasser Janahi. During the meeting, Al Buainain congratulated Al-Jarwan on his election as AP\'s Speaker and wished him every success, lauding the key role played by the AP as an Arab institution that is expected to enhance joint Arab action further and consolidate complementarity between Arab legislative councils. He also praised highly the honourable stances of the Arab Parliament in support of the Kingdom, reflecting the constant keenness of AP\'s members to support Bahrain\'s progress and their rejection of any attempts to undermine its unity, security and Arab identity. On his part, the AP\'s Chief Ahmed Mohammed Al Jarwan lauded the Kingdom\'s Reform Project and democratic march, reiterating the Arab Parliament\'s full support for Bahrain\'s security and stability and total rejection of Iran\'s interference in the domestic affairs of the kingdom or those of Arab countries. He also hailed the outstanding efforts exerted by Bahrain and its government to achieve political, legislative, economic and social reforms. He said that the initiative of His Majesty king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to resume the National Consensus Dialogue on the political theme is welcomed and appreciated highly by the Arab Parliament, noting that HM the King\'s wise dealing with the events has been admired regionally and globally. The Minister of State also congratulated Dr. Abdul Nasser Janahi on his election as a Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament, adding that his success adds to the kingdom\'s rich record of achievements at Arab and international levels. The Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa was also present.
