The Chairman of the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum Judge Mohammad al-Hakimi met on Saturday Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Civilian Capacities, Sarah Cliffe. During the meeting, they discussed and reviewed the ongoing preparations for the implementation of electronic voter registration as well as other preparations related to constitutional referendum and upcoming presidential elections scheduled for February 2014. The UN official commended absolute transparency that characterized the activities of the supreme elections commission. Cliffe also expressed the UN willingness to provide support to the elections commission in the area of capacities.
