About 400 kilograms of hashish were seized at Sunday night and a person was cuffed, local police of Gjirokastra, southern city of Albania, said Monday. "Drugs had originated from Lazarat village and had Italy as a destination. The Drugs was put in 250 packages and police forces seized them in Subash village, about 12 km away from Gjirokastra city on the way to Tepelena", a police communique says. The drugs were transported in a van by Luan Tahiraj, 34, who has been put into custody. This is the 5-th police action over the last 7 days. During last week, Gjirokastra police seized in its area over 1 ton of hashish; detained 3 persons and declared 8 others wanted. Albania is an intermediate station and destination of cannabis, heroin and cocaine, according to media reports.
