Algeria became aware very early of the necessity to promulgate laws for \"efficient\" fight against terrorism, said Wednesday Kamel Rezzag Bara, an advisor to President of the Republic. \"Being directly affected by terrorism, Algeria promulgated very early a series of laws on fight against transnational crime,\" Bara said in his opening address at the regional technical workshop on \"Rehabilitation of terrorists and extremists held prisoner in North Africa and the Sahel.\" Algeria promulgated this law in accordance with its constitutional system and the international norms and rules, he said, adding that it has always adapted its legal systems seeking efficiency in the fight against violent extremism.\" Bara recalled that Algeria also adopted \"reconciliation policies, launched socio-economic development programmes meant for young people and involved victims of terrorism and their beneficiaries in the efforts for establishing comprehensive approach of fight against violent extremism, generator of terrorism.\"
