Algiers - MENA
An Algerian political science professor said the Egyptian referendum will be passed with a high voter turnout despite of the boycott calls. "All elections according to the roadmap will be conducted as scheduled," Mosbah Manas told MENA Tuesday. He sounded optimistic that Egypt will overcome all problems facing it now. Polling stations have opened across Egypt as millions of voters in the country are set to vote in the constitutional referendum. Balloting stations, surrounded by heavy security presence, were receiving queues of citizens. The new charter aims to replace the constitution passed under deposed president Mohammed Morsi.
