Change and Reform Parliamentary Bloc Head, MP Michel Aoun, considered that the reasons for PM Najib Mikati\'s resignation remain trivial, despite the fact that the possibility for resignation did exist. Speaking during a radio segment interview on Saturday, Aoun said, \"The resignation occurred for two reasons that have no rightful stands.\" He cited the first reason as being President of the Republic, General Michel Sleiman\'s suspension of cabinet session in the wake of failure to approve the elections\' supervisory body. \"By such a move, the President went against the will of all Christian sects, and some Muslim sects, in the country who demanded that elections do not take place according to the 1960 electoral law,\" said Aoun. \"The President has always complained of having no prerogatives; however, such prerogatives appeared solely in opposing the will of Christians, the reasons for which I comprehend not!\" added Aoun. As for the second reason for resignation, namely refusal to grant Internal Security Forces\' Director General, Ashraf Reefy, a renewed mandate beyond his retirement age, Aoun considered it totally unfathomable. He indicated that there are thousands of officers in the Army and Internal Security Forces who possess great capabilities, qualifications and patriotism, even exceeding Brigadier General Reefy. Hence, it is flagrantly offensive to the Institution, as a whole, and stands as a violation of all laws, if Reefy\'s manadate were to be prolonged. \"In fact, I see another reason for said resignation, and it ought to be searched for in one of the embassies, not on Lebanese soil!\" stated Aoun. He added that the State is living in chaos, whereby the Constitution has become a \"point of view\" with no respect to constituents of the Law whatsoever.
