Several Arab and Islamic officials on Tuesday welcomed launching the national dialogue conference in Yemen. In their speeches in the opening session of the 24th Arab summit being held in Doha, Qatar, Arab League (AL) secretary general Nabil al-Arabi reiterated his welcome to convene the national dialogue in Yemen. We hope it [the dialogue] achieve its desired goals of carrying out the terms of the Gulf initiative, al-Arabi said. Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed al-Jarwan praised Yemen's adoption of dialogue as an optimal civilized way to address their issues and translate their aspirations to make the desired future into concrete action. We lauded launching the national dialogue in Yemen this month under the auspices of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, which aims to achieve a national consensus among the Yemeni people and build a modern democratic state, al-Jarwan said in his speech in the Arab summit's opening session. Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that the leaders of the Islamic nation has announced in OIC recent summit in Cairo their welcome to President Hadi's call to start national dialogue conference. The Islamic nation's leaders urged all Yemeni parties to participate positively in the dialogue in order to preserve the unity of Yemen and maintain its security and stability as well as achieving the Yemenis' aspirations of development and prosperity, Ihsanoglu said.
