Arab League (AL) Chief Nabil el Araby met on Sunday with a number of senior officials on the sidelines of the African Summit, now in session in South Africa.

During a meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, Araby discussed the latest developments in the Arab region.

Araby also convened with UN Special Envoy to Sudan Donald Booth as they discussed efforts to bring about peace in the country.

He further met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al Maliki to discuss steps taken by Palestinians at the UN Security Council to end the Israeli occupation.
