The Arab League has strongly condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Muslim and Christian worshiping places and holy shrines in the occupied Palestinian territories. “The settlers attack on Trappist abbey of Latrun and painting of anti-Christianity and anti-Christ graffiti on it expose the dominant hate culture in the Israeli society,” the Arab League said in a press statement on Monday. A group of Israeli settlers burnt the door of Trappist abbey of Latrun, a Catholic monastery, early last week and scrawled anti-Christian graffiti in an apparent “price tag” hate crime. The Trappist abbey of Latrun, near the occupied Jerusalem, is one of the most famous monastic sites of the Holy Land. The Arab League expressed solidarity with followers of Christianity and Islam against the systematic attacks on their holy and worship places. It also held Israel responsible for these offenses, stressing that the Israeli forces must protect holy sites and bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack.
