The 24th meeting of the Unified Arab Customs Union committee started on Sunday at the Arab League premises with the participatin of representatives of the economy ministries and the Arab customs authorities. The two-day meetings, chaired by Director of Regional Agreements Department at the Ministry of Trade and Commerce Tamer Mahmoud, will discuss the requirements needed to launch the Arab customs union slated for 2015. In statements on the fringe of the meeting, Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs Ambassador Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Tuweigri said participants will review the latest developments related to launching the Arab customs union and a report submitted by the Arab League general secretariat to follow up the establishment of a major Arab free trade area.
