A high-powered Arab League delegation led by Assistant Secretary General Ahmed bin Helli left Cairo on Monday for Baghdad to take part in a conference on the Arab parliament statute, due to open there on Tuesday. Iraq\'s Permanent Representative at the Arab League Qais al-Izzawi stressed the importance of the conference which is to be attended by senior Arab and international representatives. \"The conference will discuss means of benefiting from the German, Swiss and Belgianparliamentary experiences and how the role of the federal legislatures in the three Western countries shifted from that of advisory bodies to become effective legislative and supervisory authorities\", he said.
