The extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates kicked off here on Wednesday headed by the Permanent Representative of Egypt to the League, Ambassador Amr Abu Al-Ata to discuss ways to develop the system of joint Arab action. The delegation of the State of Kuwait is headed by its Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghoneim. Deputy Secretary-General of the League Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the meeting will discuss the proposals and recommendations contained in the report of the high-level independent commission headed by former Algerian Foreign Minister Lakhdar Brahimi on the development of the Arab League. Ben Helli said that the gathering would also discuss the recent Doha summit decisions related to the development of the Arab League in light of the report submitted by the independent Arab Committee. He explained that the report contains proposals for the development of some of the files, especially those related to the Charter of the Arab League as well as the amendment of the Charter, in addition to the development of specialized Arab organizations.
