Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmad Mohammad Al-Jarwan said on Monday the parliament would take part in the observation of a referendum for Egypt's draft constitution due on January 14-15. The move came in response to a request from Egypt's election watchdog, Al-Jarwan said in a release handed out by the Arab Parliament Office in Cairo. He said the main tasks of the parliament are to establish democracy and disseminate the culture of transparency in elections and referendums. Al-Jarwan reiterated the parliament's support for the options of the Egyptian people until Egypt restores security and stability.
