"Future" bloc member Deputy Asem Araji said that the Orthodox proposal would divide the country and lead to religious and sectarian cantons within the same country. "Speaker of the House Nabih Berri is trying to reach a compromise formula agreed by everyone in respect of the new electoral law," the MP stressed. The MP hoped that Berri would reach during the consultations to a formula that preserves co-existence, asserting that the participation of "Future" bloc MPs today in the meeting is to complete yesterday's session. "The position of "future" bloc from "Orthodox" law is known," Araji said. He added that if Article II is proposed, they (future) bloc MPs will be compelled to withdraw from the session.
