Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday voiced appreciation for Egypt for hosting his country's community throughout long years.
During his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Moscow, Sargsyan discussed the historical relations binding the two countries and the positive role played by the Armenian community to support those ties.
For his part, President Sisi said that the Armenian community is an important component in the Egyptian national fabric, lauding their contributions in all spectra of life in Egypt.
The two presidents agreed that the joint political will should be reflected on boosting the bilateral relations in all fields.
The Armenian president said that he is following up the developments in Egypt and the Middle East.
He voiced concerns over the conditions of the Armenian communities in Syria and Iraq and threats they are facing there.
At the end of their meeting, the two leaders invited each other to exchange visits.
