The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) backed calls for Israel and Palestine to resume peace negotiations Sunday. \"We called on all parties to make efforts for the resumption of the peace talks,\" the 10-nation bloc said after its foreign ministers met in Brunei\'s capital, according to DPA. ASEAN also called for the removal of obstacles including \"illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.\" Peace talks between Israel and Palestine fell through in 2010 in a dispute over settlements constructed by Israel in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
