EU High Representative Catherine Ashton has assessed with premiers of Serbia and Kosovo efforts for ties\' normalization between the two countries. In a statement on Friday, Ashton said she met Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and his Kosovar counterpart, Hashim Thaci, in Brussels, late on Thursday, to discuss progress in implementation of the agreement for normalisation of relations between the two sides. \"We reviewed the work done by the working parties over several weeks on all the main elements of the Implementation Plan for the April Agreement. Good work has been done and concrete progress has been achieved,\" she declared in a statement. \"The prime ministers yesterday went further and agreed on a number of open issues, in particular in the field of justice, police and upcoming municipal elections,\" she noted. The EU foreign policy chief said she would inform EU member states about progress in the implementation of the April Agreement, confirming that concrete steps towards a visible and sustainable improvement of relations between the two sides were taken. Ashton added that she is looking forward to further progress in the process of normalisation of relations between the two countries.
