Coordinator of Kirkuk demonstrations in northern Baghdad and a local official in Anbar province were targeted on Sunday, according to Iraqi police. Unknown gunmen attacked the general coordinator of Kirkuk protests Banyan Al-Obeidi as he was leaving his house and killed him immediately, the police source told KUNA. In a similar incident, unidentified gunmen assassinated a member of the municipal council in Heet, western Anbar. Anbar, Kirkuk and Nineveh provinces have been witnessing soaring violence, coinciding with the anti-government protests.
