Azerbaijan's ambassador Shaheen Abdel Layef in Cairo hailed President Abdel Fattah el Sisi's visit to Moscow.

He termed as historic the visit during which Sisi attended ceremonies on the 70th anniversary of Russia's Victory Day.

The Egyptian-Russian rapprochement will help restore regional balance of power, said the diplomat.

He was speaking during a trip to Qalyubia, north of Cairo.
