Al-Azhar has underscored anew the freedom of constructive criticism, calling for avoiding defamation and abuse. In a statement on Thursday, Al-Azhar\'s Islamic Research Academy said no party should exploit the name of Al-Azhar in any partisan conflict. Azhar is the religious reference for all Egyptian people and is not biased towards one party at the expense of the other, the statement said.
