Al Azhar has strongly condemned a terrorist attack perpetrated early Saturday at the central market of N'Djamena, the Chadian capital, in which at least 14 people were killed and several others injured.

In a statement, Al Azhar reiterated rejection of terrorism in all its forms, asserting the innocence of Islam from such terror gangs.

Al Azhar called on the international community to make all efforts to eliminate terrorism.

As many as 16 people were killed and 80 others were injured in Saturday's suicide bomb attack.

A man dressed as a woman detonated the bomb when police tried to arrest him in the central market in N'Djamena.
